Do you require a retainer?Yes, a $100 retainer fee is required at time of booking your photography session. Until retainer is paid the date/time is available to all other clients. The remaining balance of your session is due 24 hours prior to your session date.

What options do I have for method of payment?Payments can be made via cash, credit/debit card, Venomo, Paypal, or Zelle.

How do I get my images? Are they put on a USB?All photo galleries are digital download on to your computer or laptop from an online website. You will be granted print release and can make prints from any store/website. Melanie McCarty Photography also offers high quality prints and canvases for purchase. Melanie McCarty Photography isn't responsible for quality or coloring of prints not ordered through her. A USB may be purchased for an additional $25.

How long do I have to choose my favorites / download my photo gallery?For both choosing your favorites and downloading your photo gallery you have 21 days each. After 21 days the photo gallery expires and there is a $20 fee to re upload or extend any photo galleries.

Do you photograph weddings, events, newborns, or births?Wedding photography - At this time Melanie McCarty Photography does not photograph weddings. I do offer engagement sessions. Newborn photography - Yes! newborn photos are best done when baby is 4-12 days old so make sure to book before baby is born. Birth photography - Melanie McCarty Photography does not photograph births at this time. Events- At this time Melanie McCarty Photography does not offer any kind of event photography, only portraits.

What is the turn around time on my picturesThe average turn around time on any photo gallery between the months of Jan-Sept is 2-3 weeks. The months of Oct-Dec is a turn around time of 3-4 weeks. Rush editing is available for an additional $50 fee. With a rush edit you will receive your images within 4-5 days after your session.

Where does my photography session take place?The location of your photo session would depend on your session style. It would either take place in my studio located in North Fort Worth or on the location of your choice. On location sessions must take place within 15 miles of areas code 76179 or an additional travel fee will apply of $2 per mile from the photographers studio (after the 15 miles) each way.

What is the weather is bad or I must cancel due to illness?Weather- I do understand that mother nature can be tricky. Because Texas weather is all over the place I do try to wait as long as possible before I call a session to be re scheduled. Reasons for re schedule due to weather would include rain (may still try to proceed with a light mist/sprinkle), excessive wind, weather that drops below 40-45 degrees or weather over 100 degrees. Sessions will not be re schedules due to an overcast day. Illness- Sometimes we feel yucky. Especially kiddos. If an illness occurs please let me know ASAP so we can discuss the possibility of a re schedule. This is especially important if your session is in studio as I often have newborns in my studio. Every photo session is allowed to be rescheduled up to one time and must have 24 hours or more notice. The re schedule must take place within 90 days of the original session date. If session is re scheduled more than one time or in less than 24 hours before then the retainer fee is forfeited and a new retainer fee will be required to book another date. Bad weather or illness are sometimes an exception. Please speak to me in regards to this if such thing occurs. If you are a no show to your session then you will forfeit any moneys paid to Melanie McCarty Photography without the possibility of re scheduling with those funds. A new retainer will be required to book.
